'The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream.'

"The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the birds waits in the egg; and the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities." -James Allen

It’s been FAR too long since my last post (about a year ago)! The past year has brought about so many life changes. The biggest news that 2018 brought was my engagement to my fiancé Chad last June. It was simply beautiful and everything I had hoped it would be. And now our wedding is fast approaching (42 days but who’s counting?). We are getting married in the South of France May 7th and to say I’m excited to be his wife is an understatement. I’m so incredibly grateful for the love we have and the life we’re creating together.

Another big event of 2018, was my decision to pursue a certificate in Positive Psychology. I committed to a 9-month program that took up much of my time and energy but left me very fulfilled and satisfied my ever-curious soul. I decided on an online learning environment and was placed in an International cohort. It was so wonderful to meet with twice a week with fellow positive psychology students from all over the world. I bonded with amazing women from Dubai, Colombia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Luxembourg, Canada, and more. The experience was life changing and although I have chosen not to pursue a career in PP, the material I learned and lifelong friendships I have made were worth it all.

Between wedding planning, working extra hours at my day job and studying Positive Psychology, 2018 flew by and my photography business tended to take a background position. However, after reconnecting with myself and my heart’s desires, I decided that I would make some adjustments to my life and aim 2019 towards recommitting to building the life of my dreams. The first step was to release some hours from my day job. I was finding that I was so burned out from working that I didn’t have the energy for my creative pursuits, so I cut my hours. BUH BYE! Then my PP program ended so that also freed up more time! WOOT WOOT! And as 2019 rolled around, much of the wedding planning details had already been settled and iron out. This new schedule allowed me to get into a new, healthier, vibrant rhythm. And I began to do more of what I love, including getting back to my yoga mat consistently, rollderblading, connecting more with family and friends and using my free time for photography and creative learning. Since then, I have recommitted myself to building the life of my dreams, learning and growing as an artist and expanding The Magical Everyday Photography.

All this future-mindedness has brought me back to 4 years ago and to the quote above; when I was planting the seedlings of my current reality. The Magical Everyday was just a small seedling then and it’s since sprouted, grown and changed. I envision that just as I continue to learn and grow, TME will BLOOM and FLOURISH as well. I’m so excited for the seeds I’m currently planting, for chapters that lay ahead both personally and professionally, and I can’t wait to see what the next 4 years of dreaming bring. Thank you for joining me on the ride friends.

With Joy, Love & Light,

Lindsay K.
